Holiday Fragrance

This pattern collection was inspired by the botanicals and aromatics of Christmas. It includes pine branches, oranges, apples, spices and sweets of the holidays. The traditionally painted motifs add texture and character to the pattern, making it more unique. The color palette fits the holiday mood without being strictly Christmas, making it appropriate to use throughout the months of November to January.

WGSN RESEARCH

For this collection I drew inspiration from WGSN trend reports. From the research I found that botanical decor and festive fragrance were popular. I decided to use this information and create a holiday botanical pattern based off of the aromatics of Christmas.

Hand Painted Traditionally

The traditional watercolor painting gave the pattern motifs a nice visual texture and added depth to the finished patterns.

In the final motifs I excluded the branches of oranges and apples because they made the pattern feel too summery and overcrowded.
